One of my goals is to ensure that every student has a safe and positive learning experience at Ligon. Communication with students as well as with parents and guardians is key in order to address any concerns in a timely manner.
Students who wish to speak with me during class time need to request a pass from their teacher. In case of an emergency, teachers will contact me directly. In these cases, I will go to the classroom and bring the student to my office.
Students with a pass can stop by the Student Services office and fill out a self-referral form to let me know they wish to speak with me. I will meet with the student right away if I'm in my office and available. If I'm not available, the self-referral forms can be placed in my inbox or given to Ms. Barnes.

***Students must email me from their WCPSS email address in order to receive a response. I will not respond to emails sent from a student's personal email address. However, know that I will locate the student during the course of the school day and address the reason for the email.
***Please do not send emails pertaining to EMERGENCIES. Students should contact a counselor or administrator in PERSON (if I'm not available one of the other counselors will be able to help.) If an emergency arises after school hours please seek help from a trusted adult or call 911.

Parent - Teacher Conferences:
Parents and guardians interested in meeting with teachers should contact me to schedule the meeting. In order to make good use of our time and to ensure that the parent/guardian receives a comprehensive report on the student, I invite all teachers to participate. Note that during the 2016-2017 school year the 8th grade teachers will have planning during 3rd period (9:15 am - 10:00 am). This is the best time for parent-teacher conferences. There may be times when teachers will be able to meet after school (starting at 2:45 pm). However, this is not the norm as many of our teachers also supervise clubs or coach our athletic teams.
